Australia's first solar facade.
On Australia‘s first solar facade, transparent window surfaces were combined with opaque solar modules consisting of light grey SKALA modules. The different facade materials are optimally orientated the solar radiation.
Technical execution
BIPV - building-integrated photovoltaics: Our modules have a standard format of 1587 mm x 664 mm. However, each of our modules can be adjusted in length if required, so that exclusive and customized solar facades can be created from the combination of standard and size-adjusted modules.
Design
Our AVANCIS CIGS thin-film technology enables the production of particularly homogeneous surfaces. Our solar modules are currently available in 13 different colors. Both dynamic and static color impressions can be produced using our patented color technology.
Photovoltaics
CIGS technology is one of the most powerful and long-term stable thin-film processes. The 1220 SKALA modules in the color Light Grey provide a system output of approx. 146 kWp on this approx. 1203 m² facade surface. The PV system generates an energy yield of approx. 75 MWh per year.
Sustainability
Thin-film modules have a lower CO₂ footprint than silicon PV modules due to the reduced use of materials - the semiconductor layer only accounts for around 0.4 % of the module weight. The combination of cell manufacturing and module production at our Saxon production facility in Torgau contributes to sustainable PV value creation in Europe.
